biography:

A graduate of Emerson College, Alana

Goldstein is an award-winning producer of documentary, commercial and creative film, photography and multimedia. Commercial clients of Alana’s have included Coca-Cola, Bravo, Fiat, Virgin Records, Big Brother Big Sister of America, and The Masses. She has also developed projects for GQ Magazine, New York Times Magazine, and People Magazine. Her photography has been published in Newsweek, Atlanta Magazine, Beautiful/Decay, and MIT Review. She has worked with the talents of Leonardo DiCaprio, Billy Bob Thornton, Nicole Kidman, Michael Cane, and Richard Gere among others.

She recently produced the documentary

"Kids + Money" which chronicles the culture of consumerism among America’s teens. The film premiered at the AFI Film Festival in 2008, winning the Shorts Audience Award, screened at Sundance, Hot Docs, the Ann Arbor Film Festival, where it won Best Documentary, and the Hugo Television Awards where it won the Gold Plaque. The film was broadcast on HBO in 2008. Alana helped to produce "Thin", a photography book and its traveling museum exhibition, which portray an emotional journey through a women’s treatment facility for eating disorders.

Alana is currently working on a long term project exposing teen violence in the pervasive violent American culture. She teaches video production at the award-winning advertising school The Creative Circus.
